This specific viewpoint supports the idea that we, as readers, bring our personal positioning into analyzing the theoretical work of others. Essentially, this is how we approach the work of others from a non-subjective standpoint. This is part of growing as a writer and a reader in learning how to take one's personal opinion out of responding to an author's work and learn to subjectively analyze.

In composing these texts, I was asked to consider the theories and opinions of other writers, something that helped me grow as a writer myself. I was confronted with ideas I did not necessarily agree with. It was learning how to handle such opposition analytically and academically that began to open my eyes to the larger situation at work on the writer and reader at all times.
